In loving memory of
Lois Cordeiro
March 9, 1955 - January 1,
2008 |
|
Lois was a vital part of
THM’s production crew. She had served as her husband Paul’s “right hand
gal” on the Tech Crew in many of our dinner theatre productions, as well
as our Christmas plays.
When we think of
Lois…..we can not help but think “laughter”. She possessed a
laugh that you could pick out of a crowd with no problem and it was
infectious. There are people who enter a room and say HERE I AM !!! But
Lois would enter a room and say AH!!!…there
you
are.
Lois could embrace you
from across the room with her smile. And when she talked with you, even
in the midst of several people, it was as if you were the only one in
the room with her.
We are the blessed ones.
The ones who got to meet Lois, spend time with her, laugh with her, and
be loved by her.
We will miss you Lois.
We will miss your radiant smile and your sparkling laughter.
We thank you for all
your devotion and commitment to God’s work through us. You made a
difference!
Until we meet again….
Love,
The THM Cast and Crew |

In September of
2004, we held auditions for
our performance of “The
Scrooge”. It was there that
Marilyn first appeared. She
came with her beau, Roland
Desbiens to our first
rehearsal and from that
moment on, she has been out
greatest supporter. During
that production, we could
always gauge how well
rehearsals were going by
Marilyn. On a really great
night she’d be smiling and
she’d be cheering us all on.
On a not-so-good rehearsal
night, we could hear her
snoring…lol. She pushed us
to have all great rehearsal
nights. We asked Marilyn to
be an extra during this
performance. She agreed to
do it. I bet she didn’t
realize what doing that
little part would lead to.

The first season of our
dinner theatre, “The
Benetts,” came the
following January. And
there was Marilyn,
sitting in the seats
night after night, just
watching us all, and
loving every moment.
This lady would see
this play night after
night and still would be
laughing during the
actual performance. When
we decided to
perform the Scrooge
again in 2005, Kathy and
I had an idea. We had a
part that needed to be
filled and I
thought Marilyn would be
perfect for it. We
talked to her and she
said “Sure Sweetheart”
she’d be our Mrs.
Fuzzytwig, which was a
filmed portion of the
play. That moment
started some of the
funniest moments I have
ever had in THM, and
they were all behind the
scenes. Marilyn made me
laugh so much during the
filming of
her part. I knew at that
moment, this lady had to
be one of the most
naturally funniest
people I had ever
met. We then gave her
the role of a street
vendor in the actual
play, at which she
excelled.
During the next Dinner
theatre season, Marilyn
played the lovable
Flossie (By the way
Marilyn, Where’s my
poodle skirt???...
errrhrmmmm…never mind,
keep it). She danced her
way into every scene and
into the hearts
of the dinner theatre
spectators. In the
summer of 2006, we held
auditions for our
Christmas production
“Something Wonderful”.
The funniest audition by
far, was Marilyn. I
laughed so much, I
nearly wet my pants.
She ended up in the role
of the bumbling “Aunt
Rita” and was in a huge
portion of this
production. She
worked hard during that
season and took every
bit of direction and was
“spot on” during her
performance,
even when her hat popped
off her head and onto
the stage (The hilarious
moments just kept
coming). She also
played the nosy
neighbor, Nannette, in
the 2007 dinner theatre
production.
Marilyn has been in one
word “Outstanding”. Her
dedication to THM has
been amazing and she has
begun taking
attendance for all of
our rehearsals. She has
made the most growth I
have ever seen in THM,
as she has
graduated from on-looker
to stage performer in
the span of two years. I
would like to thank this
lady
personally for all she’s
done for us. We love and
appreciate her and are
honored to have Marilyn
Santos as
our first “Actor
Spotlight”.
